Important personal message to every reader and Trains staff

My time on the internet is very limited, and reading Trains and Classic Trains Forums and the Trains Newswire are all very high priority. I don’t have a social life as such nor any real personal correspondance. My life is spent mainly in studying and writing, and what time remains is devoted to the above priorities and helping friends who have sound ideas regarding North American transportation policies, good hearing conditions in buildings and in transportation facilities, and of course real and positive Peace here in the Middle East. I do not wish to use the Trains Forums to engage in any personal correspondance for any reason. If I have something to say, I want it to be available to ALL Trains Forum readers. Thank you for your consideration. On the other hand, if you have an important personal message that you wish to keep confidential, please email me directly at:

daveklepper@yahoo.com

Thank you again for your consideration.

This appears to be a request that you post messages on the forum, rather than send him Private Message, if it’s about something concerning the forum discussions.

I understand what he means. I’ve had people send me PM’s amswering questions I’ve posted on the forums. I asked those people to please answer on the open forum, where everyone can view the answers.

Dave- please correct me if I’m wrong.

Good luck!

Mr. Klepper:

May I suggest you create a ‘Sig’ line (over on the right of this page, click on the word “{Edit)” next to the words “Public Profile”) which states that you do not wish to receive “Conversations” via the Trains forums and to use your e-mail address for any personal commmunications, and then list your e-mail address.

Something like:

Dave Klepper

(Please do not use the Trains forum “Conversations” feature to contact me. Use my regular e-mail address instead, daveklepper at yahoo dot com Thanks.)

Posting your wish here this once will tell a few people, but even those that read it and understand it will probably forget it and see another posting from you and decide to have further discussions with you and then possibly use the forum “Conversations” feature anyway.

And all too soon this thread will drop off the ends of the earth (or at least off the 1st page of postings that have been made) and new people will not know of your wishes at all.

If you add a small statement to a “Sig” line, it will appear in every posting you make and that may (unfortunately, only “may”) remind people of your wishes.

The only problem with posting your e-mail address is that “Harvesting programs” will find it and you will get lots of junk (unwanted advertising, spoof and “Phishing”) e-mails.

Good advice, and exactly, I want my contributions to the Forum to always be avialable to all readers. So I will modify the profile. Thanks!
