I was working on wiring last night and needed to get an engine to run to test. Like many people, I did a lot of collecting of engines, cars, etc, long before I started construction of my layout. I got out an Atlas N scale GP9 with the DCC now installed from the factory, and it ran amazingly well. Good slow speeds, quiet. I am very impressed. I hope the manufacturers continue this high quality and reasonably priced work (although many will debate the last point). I’m wondering how the new Kato DCC equiped F3s will be. We’ll see.
Thanks for the endorsement. I’ve asked my wife for one for Christmas (in Pennsy, of course). Did you have to fiddle much with the CV’s on the decoder, or did you just assign an address and run? Thanks!
