I learned after watching this somewhat saterical video on railfanning history, I learned that when Norfolk & Southern #4001, the well known grey with blue bonnett horse mane scheme diesel locomotive derailed and was damaged back in 2016, a young teen who was a railfan in a nearby community swore to never let it happen again.
I think he and others in the railfaning community raised money to help fix it, even though Norfolk Southern had the funds to finacally repair it back into service. I find it admirable this guy raised money to help fix it, although I cant recall if he did, as I had just learned of it from this video I linked. Any idea of who he is?
