Thanks for posting that web site.

I have been in Newcastle several times and rode the regular passenger trains down to York. It is great to see steam out and about on the main.

INCREDIBLE The Brits really know how to do things like this just right!

That’s a great deal of fun in 10 minutes of film. The event took place in New South Wales in Australia and featured the Powerhouse Museum’s 3265 C32 class 4-6-0 (from which the video was taken). Here’s the museum’s url for more information: http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/collection/loco_3265.php

The black loco to the left was the New South Wales Rail Transport Museum’s 3526 4-6-0 of the NN/C32 class and here’s the link to the long, informative exhibit description:

And the green engine to the right was the NSWRTM’s 3642, formerly in the class of C36 express passenger 4-6-0s. And here’s NSWRTM’s link:

Again, thanks a lot for giving us the link. We’re not likely to see such an event in the US…

And I thought it was Great Britain! Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda, you’ll come a waltzing Matilda with me…

Reall a great film. Thanks!

The Aussies did a great job and they really had faith in the mechanical fitness of their engines. But… what wouldn’t we give to see once again NYC Hudsons racing Pennsy K4s out of Englewood or, for that matter, Niagaras racing T1s. Now that was a specticle!

Please check the British Railway operations thread in the TRAINS Forum for a listing of steam operations in Great Britian.
