I was searching for another type of structure and ran across a yard tower on Jaystrains.com: it is #80 made by Suydam/California Models/Ayers Alpine.

I used to have one of those on my 4x8 layout when I was younger. Think it is a Model Power or Bachmann. It’s probably still around somewhere at my parent;s house packed up in a box somewhere after the layout was dismantled. When I actually own a house of my own there’s probably a bunch of old stuff to retrieve and go through.
The tower has no stair or ladded detail, so no visible way for your employees to get up there, and no interior in that big open glassed in cabin. So yeah, a fair bit of detail work would be needed to make it a serious model, but it could be a reasonable starting point for your “modern airport control tower style” yard tower that you’d like to have.
