In this order, GP9 SD9?, ?, and ?. ?

Wow. Interesting morning in Rochelle. Got some more questions though. I am not used to seeing all this stuff, and it is hard to recognize engines as I am having an eye problem, can’t see very well out of my left eye. Still, I have a question about this clip.

Is the first engine an SD9, and the second engine a GP9, or slug unit?

BNSF, UP, and what? What is the third engine?

This looks like the same engine as seen above, but still, what is it, if you can even see it.

In the first photo, the lead engine appears to be an SD40-2 and the last unit looks like a GP60B.

The third unit in the BNSF/UP/? lash-up is probably a Tacoma Rail GP38-2 which was rebuilt by NRE in Dixmoor from a C&NW GP38-2.

The 3rd unit in the 3rd pic looks like a CP Rail SD40-2.

Hello from Houston,TX

In the first photo the 1st engine is an ex-BN SD40-2 and the 2nd engine is an ex-ATSF GP60B.

in the second photo the UP engine is an NREX SD50 and I don’t know what the other engine is.

in the third photo the CP rail engine is an NREX SD40-2.

NREX??? how do you know this

kevin

BNSF is currently leasing many NREX units including those that are in the pictures.

I watch trains about 30 min. west of Rochelle in a town called Polo all the time and you won’t see any UP or CP engines unless they were NREXs.

ah ok
