Independent Locomotive Service in Bethel, MN

Greetings,

While looking for our first place to shoot Milw #261 this past weekend we happened to wander into the metropolis of Bethel, Minnesota. Just as we were about to leave we noticed some old switchers sitting on a siding and low and behold we had found Independent Locomotive Service and Leasing. They had quite a little collection of switchers from different places. Below are some photos from the Independent Locomotive Service. Any information about the history or lineage of these locomotives or info about the company would be appreciated.

A shot of the facility as it sits in Bethel, MN at MP 119 on the BNSF Hinckley Sub

A shot of some of the yard, they have a little bit of everything.

Just thought I would share some shots of this interesting equipment.

Amtrak 750 is an ex-LV SW8 which was part of a swap with Conrail in which Amtrak gave up 2 E8A’s in return for 4 SW8’s. The SW8’s were equipped with dynamic brakes.

BRC 516 is a TR4B that was only recently retired by BRC.
