Sounds good. Another small railroad knows it pays to maintain equipment properly.

Considering the air compressor is probably running quite often, wouldn’t it be better to use as much heat off the compressor as possible to heat the building and burn the waste oil only when the compressor heat is not adequate?

I’d like to see this innovative railroad expand its route further!

They have significant former CP (Milwaukee) and IC lines.

Is this RR railfan-friendly? It was when it was CP, but that’s been a while, obviously.

An upbeat article about an upbeat event. Congratulations, Indiana Railroad guys & gals.

Not CP…but ICRR. They may have purchased at CP branch, but IC is the bulk of Indiana Rail Road track.

Congratulations to Indiana Rail Road on their awesome, new facility. This joins other interesting maintenance shops in Indiana. The one to especially note is Amtrak’s Beech Grove facility. Trains magazine ran an article on it a year or two ago, and there is a historic article, too (from the mid 1970s if I am not mistaken). I was privileged to tour Beech Grove last year: it is an amazingly large facility, and the employees who are maintaining or totally rebuilding a wide assortment of equipment that sometimes dates to the Truman administration are justly proud of their shop and their skills.

the specific location is former Milwaukee/CP, hence the name Hiawatha Yard.
