Indianapolis Transfer Trains in the 50s

The PRR and NYC were owners of the Indianapolis Union Railway and the Monon, Illinois Central and Nickel Plate were not, correct? How did that affect the transfer trains? Did IURWY do it all for its owners? Did the nonowners run their own transfers?

I’m not sure how this would have worked in Indianapolis since I’m basing my answer on Belt Railway of Chicago in the 1960’s. BRC’s twelve owner roads had trackage rights on BRC and could deliver directly to Clearing or other owner roads with their own power and crews. Non-owner roads did not have these trackage rights and required BRC to pick up from or deliver to their yard to or from Clearing or other roads.
