How will this one succeed where Cold Train failed?

ANYTHING MORE SPECIFIC THAN “EAST COAST AND MIDWEST?”

If BNSF can’t fix their current situation of gridlock, it would seem this has little chance of success.

Here we go again.

Question: “How will this one succeed where Cold Train failed?”
Answer: Run on UP.

I’ll bet that they could purchase some of Coldtrain’s refrigerated containers for cheap.

I suspect Cold Train ran into financial issues. They had announced major expansion plans, then announced the sale of the company. Not long after the sale plans went into the toilet, they announced they were closing.

Also, from this article, Infinity is planning on using the existing intermodal facilities in Seattle and Spokane, WA and Portland, OR. If I recall correctly, Cold Train was using Walla Walla as an origin point, not one of the existing intermodal ramps…I could be wrong without checking, but I think that was the origin point…the Port of Walla Walla, WA.

Railex is the one based out of the Port of Walla Walla. Cold Train originated from Quincy, Wa.

Frozen food may be more successful because shelf life is no longer an issue.

Rich, do you think UP is any better right now? Their SDI index is in the crapper, velocity is way down.
