Info on NS lines?

Alright. I’m just gettin started in N scale. I’m going to model NS somewhere in the mountains. I want a line that i can model thats Single track, has a few industries, and sees more traffic than just Unit coal. Anyone know any subdivisions that would work for this and have some Info on it. A friend of mine suggest to Clinch Valley Sub, does anyone have any info this sub?

Check out the Norfolk Southern line NE out of Atlanta. It runs up through Greenville, SC and beyond. I don’t know the division name but try googling Norfolk Southern; you’ll find all kinds of informationl.

I am modeling the NS Piedmont Division which is the area including northern Georgia, South Carolina, and most of North Carolina. You could also include parts of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia too. Lots of interesting action besides coal in this area too.

It’s been some time since I posted an answer for you, but you might consider the CNO&TP, the Norfolk Southern line from Chattanooga north to Cinncinatti. You could model a portion of the line throught Tennessee which sees a great variety of traffic.

I am freelancing my own NS subdivision. You can see pictures and progress at the URL in my signature.
