I want to find there value but from what I have seen I need dates there is no paper work either. Any help or advice will be appreiciated I want to sell them so some one can enjoy them instead of them wasting away. in my attic another one is Colorado & Southern HOn3 2-8-0 its unpainted brass they are all “United” made in Tokyo model trains

You may well have some real prizes. You will need more expert advice than most of us here can give. There are adds for people who wholesale these this in the mags. Some can be worth hundreds and occassionally thousands. Take your time and get real advice.
If you just want to get rid of them for price on the box, send me a list.
These are old Japanese brass models, and I don’t believe that you will find a serial number on them. My guess is that they are 1950’s or '60’s vintage based on the “box price” you indicated, and that the shift to Korean Brass came later. As I recall “United” was a good quality manufacturer, but may not have been the best in the market place at that time.
In terms of selling them, I would think that an auction site like E-Bay might yield your best response and return value, although they may wind up on a collector’s shelf. Good luck and I hope that they bring joy to their new owner in the same measure as your loved one.
Will
P.S. My bid is $.50 more than ArtHills, shame on you and me!!
