I have reserched and researched and believe I have a toy wood train from the 19th century. I am excited to have this and hope someone can help me with what I have. The engine is 16" long and 6" high. Distance between wheels is 2 5/8 bet. centers. This s a floor train. I have 8 cars which include a tanker,2 box cars with sliding tin doors, a log carrier, 2 open container cars and a caboose. They are origional paint. Yellow, orange, red, green, blue and black. I have been told it dates from pre-cival war but I kinda dout that. I wish I could post some picks but I dont see an add attachment icon. I am a new member as of today! Thanks! John
Welcome Braveheart!
While you may get an answer here you would probably be better off asking this one in the Classic Toy Trains or Model Railroader forums.
Good Luck!
I’d contact an antiques appraiser instead of asking on a place such as this about the train. This forum is for the discussion of REAL trains.
I will! Thank you!
Digital Photos posted the on Classic Toy Trains section will help answer the questions.
