Inside frame trucks, sluggish rollers.

Please, need suggestions to make my inside frame HO rolling stock better runners.

Cheers & thanks.

Andy

A very small amount of powdered graphite in the bearings might help. I don’t have anything with inside frame wheelsets, so I’m just guessing you’re modeling some type of narrow gauge equipment.

A little more detail about exactly what you have, such as the brand name and type of rolling stock, may elicit a more educated response from someone who actually has the same thing.

More likely, the inside bearing trucks on Walthers and other manufacturers’ passenger cars (Amfleet II, Horizon, Athearn Bombardier, etc.).

The consensus seems to be that these trucks are a pain to get rolling smoothly

Graphite might indeed help

Another common suggestion is a drop of silicone shock oil (for RC cars) oil on the contact area for the axle.

A third suggestion is replacement, either with Imperial Hobby Productions replacement trucks (if available, and if you budget can handle it), or to quote a response from a different forum:

Bachmann Amfleet coaching stock.

Cheers & thanks for the replies.
