Hey All.

Its early morning here in Wyoming. Figured since I can’t sleep. I might as well check the forums. I was wondering how many of you guys do this as well.

Sleep? What’s That?? Sounds like an interesting concept… I’d like to hear more about it.

In theory its this process where you voluntarily lose conciesness for a period of 7-9 hours and let your brain recover from the days drugery. During this state your eyes often flash about really fast in a state known as Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep. During this time you are often dreaming. I normally expereince this process regulary but tonight things just seem so out of whack.

I keep dreaming of acela’s flying around my track at full speed

but I don’t have the acela

Okay, Now I remember… Those were the daze…[|)]

jOIN THE CLUB…looking over the forum is better than watching TV but I’d rather be sleeping!! Have a great night guys.

I’m here because I’m to stressed about an exam tomorrow to sleep…that is, until my dad comes in here to yell at me for being up at 2 AM!
I won’t be a regular…

I’ve been up since 4am. Didn’t sign on till 6:30 though. Better than watching real estate info-mercials. If it was warmer, I would have gone out to the garage and worked on the layout.

Get off work at Midnight check forums till 1 or so go to bed get up at 8: with my son check the forums go to work at Noon, you know lather, rinse, repeat. I need to just go to the basment and work on the layout just no time till my day off. oh well.

Narcolepsy - it’s a great thing I can sleep any …z…z…z…z…zzzzz

Tuesday is hockey night. Two hours on the ice (I’m a goalie) is followed by an hour of “celebration” with our favorite beverages and chips. After that I drive home, but I can’t sleep, so I hit the forums until about 12:30 or 1. Other nights, though, I try to be in bed by 10. Morning starts at oh-six-hundred, hockey or no hockey.

Will everybody shut up?!? I’m tryin’ to take a nap!!!

Tom

I’m usually signing off near 0100 hrs, most nights. I’m often awake at 0545, but I am retired and will just lie quietly until I return to sleep near 0700. Did that this morning…fortunately.

If I have a lot on my mind, like an imminent refinishing of our basement (yaay!), new wood stove installed, dishwasher to be installed Fri,…it adds up. I look forward to things going back to normal by end-Feb.

The neighbors say they can’t hear my power tools going at 0300, but I know it’s just a setup. I’d rather stick to a straight diurnal schedule, but so many things mess it up. Too much soda after dinner, cats knocking something over, furnace messing up leaving it too hot ot too cold, coyotes tearing each other’s paws off under the bedroom window, a bad dream, a good dream, excess onions on the pizza, you name it.

Can’t work on trains, without the cops showing up with an eviction warrant, might as well read about trains or ask questions about trains.

Fortunately, I’m getting better about ramping a messed up schedule back into a normal one, even as the thing as that wake me up early or won’t let me sleep when I should are getting worse.

It is glad to know I am in good company then.

James

Well Its another late night again. Figured I would say hi.

James

What’s sleep? It’s 3:24 AM here. I never sleep.

As some of you may have noticed, the vast majority of my posts are made during the over-night hours. That is because I work the grave-yard shift as a security-guard/receptionist in a nursing home. (Oops ! “grave-yard” is not a term we like to use here. [;)] ) Anyways, since it is usually very quiet and they have high-speed internet access, I pass the time on the forums and doing train- and layout-related research on the internet. I only have dial-up at home, so checking out picture-laden topics and sites is so slow.

By nature, I’m a real night-owl. Even when I’m not working, I very rarely go to bed before 2am. I’d much rather stay up all night than get up early.
