It’s going to depend on the locos. A lot of newer N scale models have decoders made for them that replace the standard circuit board, and are fairly easy to change over. Most older N scale models don’t have ANY space for a decoder, the entire space inside is filled up with metal. For those, you will have to look at getting the metal frame milled. There are a couple of companies that provide this service. Aztek is one.
