I am having a problem trying to install ground throws. I am using atlas code 83 #4 turnouts. It seems the hole where i am supposed to put the throw ( on the side of the turnout ) is too small for it. Do i need to carefully drill a bigger hole or am i doing something wrong? I appreciate any help!

thank you! I just didn’t want to do any damage to the switch arm before i checked with someone.
Ole:
I beieve What you are calling a “switch arm” we know as a THROW BAR. The holes can be enlarged with an appropiate drill bit or exacto blade. Your choice.
Make sure the Gound throw’s are anchored into your ply.
I like to put small nails on both sides of the ground throw to serve as handle ‘stop’s’. Then they are easier to grab.’
Here’s an article in the NMRA Beginner’s Pages that may help.
