Installing DCC decoders in Kato Swithes

Hi

I’m looking for tips or other people experiences with the installation of dcc decoders in kato number 6 switches and also on Kato double crossovers. I’m using NCE DCC equipment and would appreciate any tips and or suggestions?

No personal experience, but have you looked at these?

I have trouble reconciling the following two lines on that page:

  • Cost effective control for a Kato* Unitrack turnouts
  • $32.95 msrp

At least with the DS51K1, you can use an existing Kato switch motor, and costs somewhat less.

Still, at those prices, I would be looking seriously at switching ([:D]) to Tortoise or other slow-mo motors, and grouping multiple turnouts off of one stationary controller.

With .78 x .43 x .098in (20 x 11 x 2.5mm) a ZIMO MX82 should fit in the KATO road bed. More information can be

Since you are using NCE DCC, why not take a look at the NCE Switch Kat, specifically for KATO switches? Don
