Good afternoon fellow modelers,
Just an update on the Instant horizon question I had a couple of weeks ago…
I did cut the sky off and just used the horizon and I used an X-acto knife to do it and they are looking Marrrrlivous Dolling ! So, If any body wants to do the same thing use an x-acto and cut as close to the objects as you can and they look really good when you get them up ! Well worth the $$ I saved doing it this way rather than a $1,000 for an artist…That was the least all the commercial artist I contacted wanted !
Hi Danny,
Personally, I prefer to match the sky color at the top of the photo, (at a paint store) , and paint the sky on the backdrop with the color. The sequential SceniKing set of photos have nearly identical sky blue tops to the final 20 foot banner, that I glued to the backdrop with a giant glue stick. If necessary, I then stippled on clouds with a dry brushy technique. Bob Hahn

Glad to hear it. What I don’t understand about these cheaper back drops is the odd sizes they come in. [%-)] Most are either to short or not long enough.
Bob,
I had already painted my sky with low haze into blue and most of the IH’s are real lite sky that dont match each other ,thats why I cut mine off, they wouldnt match…
Loather,
The Instant Horizons come in 3ft long x 2 ft high sections, all of them,I dont know about backdrop warehouse’s stuff,I think they come in whatever length you order them, but I already had my table along the wall so they were not an option…
