Instruction Help

Ok I was dumb. With a capital D.U.M.B.

Several weeks ago I purchase a Circus Craft kit off of a certain auction site. I never looked to see if the instructions were included after I recieved the kit. Whoops.

At any rate would one of you gentlepeople happen to be able either photocopy or scan the instructions for Circus Crafts, Dinning Dept, Baggage Wagon kit number CW.15?

I would certainly be greatful.

Thanks

You admittedly have a problem there trynnallen - but all may not be lost. (By the way, you are not the first person to do this but my circumstances are just a little different than yours)

In case you are wondering why your kit has no instructions it is probably because the guy who sold it to you for such a ridiculously(?) low price lost the stupid things. The exact phrasology is “pawned off on”…

If no one on this forum can solve your dilemma then you are going to have to go to the manufacturer. I’m not familiar with exactly what you are talking about here but if this manufacturer is still in business they might just be able to help you out. They might have an e-mail address, a telephone no, a postal address, etc.

Assuming this manufacturer is still in business and the kit is still in production and your LHS has one on the shelf he might just be willing to open it up and reproduce the instruction sheet(s) for you - now if you are, at this point, scratching your head and asking “what in the h*ll is an LHS” you are probably doomed to go to the next step which is;

Muddle through. Most kits are just a little bit logical in their construction and if you lay things out and examine for a reasonable amount of time things might just fall into place - and only surgeons have to perform a sponge count. If you come up with extra parts don’t panic - they might be just that. Don’t do any gluing until you have a reasonable idea of how things are going to go together. I would get myself a package of 5X7 file cards and a tube of 3M’s temporary glue - the kind they use for post-it notes (that is a registered trademark by the way; so is Scotch Tape, 3Ms most famous patent). Have everything laid out and labelled before you start.

I am a great advocate of LHS patronage; do you really and truly think you saved any money here?? I try to avoid headaches myself!!!
Keep us posted!!!

Circus Craft kits are uncut and unscored wood kits. They went under about 5 years ago, so no relief there. As for the LHS. Called them. Right now to their knowledge I am the only one in several counties, and the only on in HO that is currently building or has the kits to build a circus train.

Asked my club members. I am the only one in the club building or has the kits to build a circus trian.

So anyone out there with one of these kits I sure would love some help. Thanks again.

Here’s an idea. Buy another one off the auction site. Photocopy the instructions. Sell it.

Check this Web site – http://www.cedarislandpark.com/Models/Circus/Circus.htm

It may have what you’re looking for so you can either purchase another one with instructions or find only the instructions that can be downloaded.

Thanks for the help so far. The circus site didn’t have what I built, but that’s not really too surprising. I will keep looking.
