I just got a great deal on some 4 wheel european cars by marklin. The problem is that the (ac) wheelsets short out my track. Is there a source for insulated or (dc) wheelsets for these cars in order to use them with two rail systems?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike. I don’t know the way Marklin trucks are constructed, but why not just switch out the wheelsets with some regular HO wheelsets? Are the truck bodies (side frames and connector) metal? If so, just swap the out the whole truck with some regular (Intermountain, P2K, or Genesis) trucks that are plastic and won’t short. But, I would imagine the European trucks probably look different than the American styled ones, eh? Let us know what you did and if it works or not. Good Luck.

Mike;
Marklin axles are much shorter than typical USA models, but ReBoxx offers a larger variety of wheel sets. Pop out one of your axles, and measure it with a caliper or micrometer. Then order the same length from ReBoxx. http://www.reboxx.com/wheelsets.htm
Alternately, you can order TRIX wheelsets, TRIX is Marklin’s DC line. They will be more expensive, but they will fit.
Those who bought the Marklin UP box cars had the same issue, those who waited for the TRIX version didn’t.
