Insulfrog vs Electrofrog / Shinohara vs Peco

Hi all,

I am starting my new layout. I was looking for advice and opinions on the merits of electrofrog and insulfrog turnouts. Currently I am DC but I suppose DCC will be in my future plans.

Also, any comments on the respective merits of Shinohara and Peco code 83 turnouts. Has anyone seen the new Peco code 83 stuff?

I have all peco turnouts (or points as we call them in Australia). The operating reliability through the electrofrogs is much better as there is minimal loss of electrical contact. Just ensure your track is wired correctly to avoid short circuits (I operate DC but dream for DCC, one day…)
