This morningat about 8 AM on the CSX tracks running through Gettysburg, PA I saw a mixed freight going west back to Hagerstown, Md. The first locomotive was an ex Conrail, still in the blue and white paint scheme the second engine was an engine in the standard NS black and white and the third was a white face NS engine. This is the first time I have seen NS power on this line. Both NS and CSX have yards in Hagerstown and interchange there, but NS does not come this way with any motive power on CSXt racks they usually run north through Chambersburg to Enola or Harrisburg.
Interesting catch.
It’s gotten to the point, however, with run-through power, etc, that it’s only mildly surprising to see anything anywhere…
I’ve seen UP, Soo and Wisconsin Central power here in northern New York…
Heh, and then there’s the CP…if it’s not red, it’s rare.
