I was just in the train room taking a few night pics when these came about. I thought they were worth posting, what do you think? They are BN GP 38-2.
Hope you enjoy these. Mike

Yeah, I like the silouettes of the trees, and the vague clouds in the distant sky.
Night photos are some of the most dramatic ones you can take in model railroading. They are also probably the most convincing because the flaws get blacked out and the imagination takes over to fill in the blanks. I especially like the ones where the layout lighting is the only lighting used. So far, I’ve only done a little bit of layout lighting because most of what I’ve done are background structures but the little lighting I have done has added a lot to the layout. One of the projects I have on the agenda this winter is to add flood lights to my main yard and engine terminal. The are not inexpensive but I think they will be well worth the money spent.
Hi There;
Nice pics. I agree nite shots are great. Here are 2 pics of the same scene. I think the b&w is more dramatic.
These Pics are GREAT!!! I will have to try to take some night Pics of my layout.

That B&W photos are more dramatic: you’ve just learned what photoographers have known for decades! [:)]
I like the night shots, especially the one with the UFO (Unidentified Flying Outlet [:D]) in it!
I like the second photos best, as there aren’t any wall outlets in the sky!
Great job! [8D]
Great shots. Nice artistic touch. Thanks for sharing.
Ditto. Not only that, but B&W pics would be more in keeping with my transition era layout. B&W was more the rule than the exception in the 1950s and earlier. I don’t know why this hasn’t occured to me before. I don’t think my digital camera can take B&W but my photo editor can do the conversion.
