Interesting Town layout

I came across this on Terraserver and thought some of you guys might be interested in the layout that Palouse Washington had.
The Northern Pacific built through here from the Spokane area to the north, heading to Moscow, Idaho and Pullman Wahington.
The Great Northern then bought an Interurban railroad also between Spokane and Moscow, running through town to the east of the NP.
The line heading east into Idaho is the former Washington, Idaho and Montana, which the Milwaukee Road purchased. BN bought this line in 1980.
In September 1996 the Palouse River and Coulee City Railroad bought the NP and WI&M lines from BN and still operate them. The GN line was abandoned by BN before that.

Kinda reminds me a wee bit of the CNJ and LV through Jim Thorpe, PA…

it certainly looks like something that could be adapted to model railroading , are you thinking of working up a track plan ?

Looks like it has a tunnel under the town off the wye.

I think the track plan is right there for a side part of the layout if that is what you are thinking.

Model Railroader did a “Railroad You can Model” - I think that was it - about the WIM. It was a good twenty years ago or more. Don’t remember exactly where Palouse fit into the scheme of things. I always liked a Washington-Idaho-Montana theme because it had definite shortline qualities complete with RDCs for passenger traffic.
