While I realize this may sound crazy, I am looking to purchase an Interlocking Type F Locomotive Coupler with Rotary Locklift Assembly. I have contacted a couple AAR approved vendors and have yet to locate a new or usable Coupler.
Is there anyone out here that knows where I can locate one? I have a contact at Amtrak plus called Norfolk Southern and Meridan Rail. Still nothing yet. It is a National Casting #42F4401, of course the most current drawing I have obtained is dated 1951.
All help in this quest would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
I would like to thank you very much for your help. I work for a railroad and believe it or not, we still have this locomotive running. I was given, what I thought was an impossible task, of finding the material to help maintain it.
I will call this company on Monday morning. Thank you again.
I have received the additional contacts and I’m going to start call now. Thank You!!!
As for the locomotive, it is a FL9M. Originally built as a FL9 between '56 and '60. This unit was rebuilt and I am trying to acertain the date. I will have to get back with you on that.
