InterMountain Release Dates

I see InterMountain has pushed back most all of there release dates again. I’ve pre-ordered the IC&E SD40-2’s that were to be released well over a year ago I believe. Is there still issues over in China, is that what is causing the delay or is it something else? Anyone have any Inside Information?

I think Intermountain is one of the brands that Sanda-Kan, Bachmann’s factory in China, told would have to find a different manufacturer.

Wow that sucks, I’ve been waiting for those IC&E SD40-2s for a long time.

I feel your pain. I’m in the same boat. I’m waiting for the SD-40 in Pan Am.

There were a couple of items that were listed as due in August that I was interested in, but are now delayed until December. As it is, they are expenses I can put of until then anyway so it’s not all bad.

IMR stuff still seems to be getting worked on so it doesn’t appear they are running around looking for a new factory. IMR just displayed samples, for example, of their upcoming SP bay window caboose.

I’m looking forward to the release of the Paducah rebuilds they announced earlier this year. Originally scheduled for later this year, around December. Haven’t checked the web site lately though.

As Said, the time to save for more of those is nice, however, I may be thinking I actually could decal some shells & ‘fleet up’ almost as fast, ha hah…
I do hope that they well be excellent models that are worth the wait.
However, I do not have any shortage of things to work on, so I can maintain my patience…

I was at a train show today talking to a dealer; he had some disturbing news about the recent offerings from Intermountain, and said there had a been a very high rate of returns due to quality control issues. He refuses to buy any stock to sell, only ordering what people want specifically.

Does any model ever arrive on time as advertised by the importers or distributors ? I’m still waiting on a Bachmann G-scale locomotive they advertised almost 10 years ago, and am beginning to suspect that they never got enough pre-orders. [%-)]
