Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know we have started an informal Large Scale group here in Winnipeg. Calling it “Prairie Rails”. To date there are four of us getting together once a month to talk trains. Might even run some if the snow ever goes! Two of us have outdoor layouts so some open houses will be in order for the Summer. Hope to see it grow as we promote it at our local train shows. Later eh…Brian.
Brain the brian
Hey garden railroading is a personal thing. You should keep quiet about it and to yourself. Who wants to have strange people walking all over their back yards.?
That is pretty cool Brian. Hope the club works out, and you get to show a lot of people the fun of trains. Hey, even in the snow it looks cool.
Tim
Brian, I salute! you and others for promoting the Hobby! I find this most admirable and hope someday time will allow me to do my part. Exposure to the hobby promotes newer models and new products.
BRIAN

Hey there,
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Yes I am trying to get more to post here. So far they don’t even go online a whole lot. We’ll give them some time. The sun is shining and melting the white. Only about two feet left before I can see my line (deep that is)!!! I will update you all on our group as time goes on. Later eh…Brian.
Marty Marty Marty,
Is that why you live waaaaaaaaaaaaay out in the Nebraska sticks??? [;)] We still found your house anyways! [:D] Later eh…Brian.
Brian,
Good for you, I hope you and your new friends enjoy the companionship, and remember the first rule of any successful club … THERE ARE NO RULES!!
Walt
Sounds like the beginnings of a Large Scale RR club to me[;)]
Good Luck with it[tup]
Hey Vic,
You may well be right. Been in clubs before. Hate the politics that go with them sometimes. Keeping it informal for now. We’'ll see where that takes us! Later eh…Brian.
Hey Brian,
Someone told me that the best time of the year for garden railway meetings in the Peg is the winter. Keeps things cool and guaranteed no mosquitoes.[;)][}:)][:D][:D]
Have fun, eh!
I can just see a winter running session now, track on top of frozen snow bank and the trains a running while four grown men watch as they are freezing and up to their waist in snow and don’t care.
Prairies new motto- who needs roadbed, we got snow![:D]
Matt,
Funny you should mention that. One of the guys here waits until the snow builds up in his yard and then skims off the top with a shovel. Lays his track on that. On sunny days the ties warm up and sink a bit into the snow. After it freezes again it becomes solid until the next warm day. Wish I had pics to show you this. Sure makes for a neat RR! Later eh…Brian.
That’s to funny! I was just kidding![:p][:0][:D][8D]
