Just getting back into Model RR’s after a 40+ year hiatus. Almost done with my HO layout structure on an 5-1/2 foot by 8 foot table. It’s been fun and challenging so far. The challenging part has been the trestles/tunnels structuring. I’m in Greenville, South Carolina, USA and have a great hobby store here called Blue Ridge Hobbies. They’ve been a great help.
Welcome Paul! I’m sure that you’ve seen a lot of change while you were away. Diving back in after a prolonged absence is always an interesting experience. Don’t be afraid to post your questions here. There is a wealth of experienced folks here who are happy to share their experiences and help. Keep us up to date on your progress.
[#welcome] back to Model Railroading and [#welcome] to the Forums. As has been mentioned previously, don’t be afraid to ask questions. You can rest assured that just about everyone of us has already asked just about ANY question that you may think of. Remember, the only stupid question is the one that you don’t ask. Most questions will probably get you several different answers, (especially those pertaining to track planning and laying, ballasting and scenery) just go with the one that strikes your fancy. The worst that can happen is that you find that it doesn’t work for you so you start over with some other method.
Best of luck in your endeavours and remember, Model Railroading is FUN! If you find that you are pulling your hair out about something but are having fun anyway, then you are doing it right.
Blue Flamer.
EDIT.
I don’t know why this showed up twice, 'cause I only hit the POST button once???
