Was In Chilicothe, Il. just north of Peoria this morning and watched a single IAIS engine go through towards Peoria pulling a single heavy coach with what looked like a new paint job with IAIS printed across the roof. A couple of guys were sitting on the back deck of the car. Does anyone know the history of the coach?
According to a caption from a photo I’ve seen on railpictures.net (this one: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=152850) the car is the former KCS Laredo. Now it is known as the “Hawkeye” on the IAIS.

Boy, I hope they don’t have the name prominently displayed on the car- if so, they’re asking for trouble on those Illinois excursions…
