I found it interesting that the article repeatedly mentions revenue but never net income.
Cool info but what about Operating ratio? EBITDA? Return on Capital Employed? The top line gross revenue and car count for the year really don’t tell you anything.
Jim, we are not a public company so we don’t report earnings, but EBITDA was also a record, and the operating ratio was at its best ever.
That is wonderful information that such a business plan is looking good. Possibly, the S&NC railroad might look into a business plan of buying many of the surplus #111 tank cars, clean them out and use to load pure Hudson River water at North River or North Creek and ship to anywhere in the USA that need drinking water. If railroads can make money on moving oil, is it possible to do the same with water? Only NY State Encon has to approve it. That water just goes to waste when it reaches Poughkeepsie and mixes with the salt water of tidal movements. Shipping some would not move the salt line one foot north.
