irish moss

A few of my irish moss is dying. It is getting brown from the edges working in. I did not step on it or anything. Anything I can do to try and save it or whats causing this to happen.

How often do you water it?

Water … Water … Water… Almost all of the fine plants like moss, thyme etc. like small drinks of water very oten. Many even prefer moist but well drained soil, as too much water can drown the little guys.

My stuff is on an automatic sprikler system and gets 3 minutes of water twice a day. Then I hand water every third day adding a little bit if Miricalgrow disolved in the water pail.

Everything gets watered just about every night.

It may be that “just about” part. As Tom said, these guys can be finicky when newly planted. Sometimes plants just die even if you do nothing wrong. Once the plants that are doing well take off you can transplant a few hunks or just try something else. Polymer gel soil additives like SoilMoist and TerraSorb can also help (I order a 50# bag of TerraSorb every Spring).
