Is Godzilla on your layout ?...

I don’t see it as much as I use to, but there for a while a lot of model railroaders had Godzilla figures on their layouts… I first started seeing them in hobby shops and train shows back in the early 90s. They even have a model of Godzillia now attacking a train with cars in his hands and mouth. I was told that having one of these on your layout brings good luck.

Anybody else out there seen anything like this ?.

He’s now playing center field for the Yankees.

don’t own one…kind’a takes the prototype out of the layout scenes since i don’t model Tokyo…chuck

Didn’t John Allen have some sort of dinasaur on his layout pulling a wagon?

Nellie, a Stegosauous–it didn’t pull a wagon, it was a biological switcher.

Two things.

This weekend my son was standing on a stool and fell into the layout. No damage but structures were thrown on the track. Locos were layou on their sides, etc. I could have been Godzilla.

Back in the 80’s there used to be a computer game called Smash, Gobble, Cruch. You were a Gozilla like monster and the purpose of the game was to wade through downtown Washington DC, smashing as you go with the purpose of destroying the IRS building.

I kinda wi***hey’d bring that one back.

I think she’s listed under “Fallen Flags” now…

Are you thinking of Rampage? Where you could be Lizzie, the Godzilla-like lizard, or George the King Kong-like ape. Or Ralph the Werewolf. At least one of the cities had an elevated railway where you could smash and eat the cars.

No…but I’m thinking of sneaking a Sasquatch onto our club layout, since we have some forested areas that need ‘detailing’…

Hmmm…I like the Sasquatch idea, especially since I am going to build a Northcoast mini layout.

And actuallly I do need to find an HO scale ape miniature for a small blimp I am building for a friend’s movie (one of the characters is a bionic gorilla who owns a blimp.)

I do have a Godzilla toy–maybe I’ll have to stage some rampage photos!

Hmmm’ We use to have Godzilla on our modular club layout…wonder what ever happen to’em…Hmmmmm!

A couple of layouts ago I had a dinosaur a-la John Allen’s Stegoraurus that I used as a yard ‘goat’, but I lost it. Actually, it was a Triceratops, #01, and I hung the headlight between the front horns. Cute little critter. And it was close to HO scale. I really should go to Toys r’ Us and see if I can find another. Until then, I’ll have to make do with Spooky, the Maine Coon Catzilla.

Yes, my layout does have an N-scale Godzilla sitting on his ledge on the mountain waiting for a chance to attack the sleepy, little town below. Can’t say that he’s brought me any luck, though. Just keep spending more and more money! By the way, Godzilla is perfectly prototypical on my layout. If you click the web button below, you’ll see why[:)]

I was wondering when cats would enter this subject, and speaking from experience, there is no other cat more Godzilla like than a Maine Coon! Cute pic. Dan

Godzilla has ruled my layout for years ! I built him from a kit I picked up several
years ago. I can’t remember who produced the kit, but it’s way cool !
I can put an N scale caboose between his hands. I just love Godzilla movies.
There is usually a train scene in them, as well as many fine models of towns,
bridges, electrical towers, etc.,etc. It’s too bad they all get wiped out !!
Hey, Donald Agne ! Great layout !!![:)][:P]

My oldest son is a huge Godzilla fan. Our train layout does occasionally feature Godzilla. My son makes stop-action animation movies featuring the family layout and his Godzilla figures. Some of them are pretty good!

Welcome to the forum, but maybe you haven’t heard of the biological monsters that like to attack moving model trains. They are called “Catzillas”. They do not breathe fire but most do shed fur.

Not yet. And not for the GHL&G, but now that I’ve started getting some B-Train Shorties from Japan, I have been strongly tempted to do a Godzilla scene. For N-Scale, a first generation Godzilla would be about 12" tall. But since the B-Trains are shortened versions of Japanese trains, perhaps a 6" or 8" Godzilla would look about right.

As time went by, Godzilla kept getting taller to keep pace with the building heights in Tokyo. And there were always minor changes to his facial and body features from film to film.

So beware, if you don’t have the right scale height, and the right features for the time period you are modelling… Then you are just playing with Godzillas! [}:)][:X][}:)]

Maureen,

Too funny!!

Oh no! Your layout is ALL WRONG! You used a Phase 3C Godzilla, when EVERYONE KNOWS you should have a Phase 1A!
