Is K-Line's 0-4-0T Porter Locomotive shipping?

Saw this cute little cuss of a small Porter steam switcher in K-Line’s 2005 catalog.
Has anyone got one or even know if it’s available yet?

Yes, the porter is available all you have to do is go to k-line trains website under switchers click the word porter and order it is that easy.

Saw it at York in a set with three boxcars for $150. Pretty neat.
I’m gonna wait till my train guy gets it.

Hey Laz;

Did the Porter set you saw at the train show have the scale couplers?

One of my concerns is how do you pull your freight cars that have conventional couplers. I know they have car sets available with the scale couplers but those are not necessarily the cars I want to use.

I’m wondering if there’s a conversion kit available to install conventional couplers on the Porter or if you would have to use an idler car with a scale coupler on one end and a conventional coupler on the other to place between the locomotive and conventional couplered O gauge equipment.

BOG,
The Porter steamer comes with both sets of couplers only for the Porter. I asked the Kline rep there and he took them out of the box for me. The boxcars only have the scale couplers.

It does’t look too bad to change them though.

Thanks Laz,

I’m headed down to a ‘local’ train shop to pick one up ( almost a three hour drive one way - but there’s plenty of other cool stuff down there to check out - also plenty of raifanning opps for the entire length of the trip down & back ).

Catch you guys later …

Don’t spend all your money (wink) BOG.
Let me know how it is.laz57

I believe a coupler conversion kit is included in the packaging. Both KD and Lionel-type couplers are available.
