For a while now ive heard that njt is going to put rails on old abandoned tracks like in warren county nj but every time i do it is pushed back further to when it will be done and i havent heard anything further since 9 months to a year and a half!!!
So does anyone know the deal with them building new rails???
NJT is in somewhat of a cash bind like most authorities. They have put back rails on old lines already. Here and there. They are operating about twice as many commuter trains and light rail in total than they did when starting up. Atlantic City. The River Line diesel light rail. Midtown direct for the Morris and Essex. Hudson Bergan light rail. Remember the old Hoboken Elevated? Now there is a new one! And so forth.
They are constructing the branch of the Newark Subway to Newark Broad Street Station. You might check their website to what else is afoot. I forget their email address and usually access it through the Light Rail Transport Asocciation, www.lrta.org
You can navigate from that.
The New Jersey Transit is the best transit in this country.
This is true. NJT puts SEPTA to shame.
