is the forum having technical difficulties???

I’m no expert on the forum, however the colour coded folders appear to be inconsistent at present… many yellow post folders and few purple post folders in the past 2-3 days.
I’m referring to forum pages 1-2 in particular, they have the current day posts (“today”), yet with the initial sign-in, the vast majority of the newest posts are indicated by yellow folders… is anyone else experiencing this???
I can only conclude that:

  1. my computer doesn’t function properly…[|)]
  2. my computer can’t read in colour code…[:o)]
  3. I don’t understand colour code…[:I]
  4. somebody lost the purple pencill crayon…[:D]
  5. things have changed…[:(]
  6. it doesn’t matter, 'cuz nobody (else) noticed…[8)]

besides I’m still learning the ropes (in “training” [8D]if you will… oh that’s a poor pun - sorry all)

i’ve also been wondering…

i bookmark to http://www.trains.com/community/forum/default.asp?CAT_ID=8. before i log in, all three forums will have purple icons, indicating new posts since my last visit. i log in, and the icons are yellow.

if i surf a while and come back, the icons appear correctly.

was the purple pencil crayon discovered again???
seems to be working okaay at the moment

Purple folders mean there is a new topic there. Sometimes, the server resets or something, and they all get “marked as read” or become yellow.

If you come and all the folders are purple, then log in, and all are yellow, you caught one of the times where it resets, or there are no new posts. Look for a different order of posts, and it’s a guess as to what is new or not sometimes.

the date and time appear to be better indicators of a new post at this point, everything (typically) coming up yellow in the last week or so.
fix or toss the colours is likely the next step

You are correct that it is a problem. I have this fixed on the development code, but I haven’t had an opportunity to apply the modifications here. Soon tho’.

David, you must have done your magic… I’m seeing purple tonight. Thanks.
