I’m new to this part of the forum and I’m confused, too!
I always thought so.
I don’t make it out to the Trains.com section to often, usually only when they have posted the trackside editions.

First, welcome to the forum.
Second, I’m not sure I understand your question. Trains.com is a supplement to the magazine, but definitely separate.
For example, Erik Bergstrom is the forum moderator, but does not work on the magazine staff. Staffers, like myself, stop by from time to time, and update the magazine’s homepage with current issue information, but that’s about it.
When we update the magazine homepage, we include additional information that complements stories in the issue, as well as links to even more information online. But that’s where it ends.
We do not post magazine articles online, and we don’t really mention the forum in the magazine except to direct people to the Web site in general for more information.
Also, Trains.com technically covers all of Kalmbach’s “track titles:” Model Railroader, Trains, Classic Trains, Garden Railways, and Classic Toy Trains. Only the magazines’ individual homepages are really related to the magazines themselves.

Kathi, we’re talking about the trains.com discussion forum on the trains website.
What we are discussing is the fact that the trains.com forum on the website gets very few posts in comparison to the Trains Magazine forum on the website.
Not the trains website as a whole.
