Is their a Union Pacific bicentenial?
yes, the UP 3300 at least
kevin
No, not the United Way engine, I mean an engine that is RedWhiteBlue, and is not sponsered by United Way. Like a #1776, or something.
that I don’t know but I will look some more

I’m tempted to say “yes, but you’ll probably have to wait another 65 years or so…”
or
“Yes, two DDA40X in one consist…”
but I believe the question refers to Bicentennial-painted units in the 1970s. The only one I know of is UP 951, which was given a “Preamble Express” paint scheme in about 1974. However, I don’t recall this being lettered “Union Pacific” anywhere, and I don’t know of any special UP Bicentennials in the sense of SP’s units.
What is so special about UP 951?
It’s one of the surviving set of E9s.
You can see a somewhat blurry picture of how it looked in its Bicentennial scheme here:

No, the Bicentennial was 28 years ago. Time to move on.[soapbox]

So, when you say no, does that mean that their isn’t a bicentennial for the UP, or that you think that I was talking about the bicentennial. 1, or 2.[;)]

OK, I’m confused.
If you mean “Was there a UP bicentennial painted locomotive?”, I think overmod answered your question, unless someone else is aware of another example.
On the other hand, if you are asking if UP has celebrated a bicentennial, the answer is not for another 40-50 years (You can look up when UP was created and add 200 years yourself).
Since the UP celebrated the Centennial of the transcontinental in 1969, rather than the company founding some time earlier, we could expect them to do it again in 2069, when they will be the surviving railroad, having merged with the rest.

Union Pacific Centennial DDA40X.
UP 6936.
The only UP bicentenial unit was the “Preamble Express” E9, 951.There were rumors that UP was going to paint DD40AX 6900, red, white, and blue, but it never happened [:(].
do you mean UP 6936

6900 would have been around at that time, as it was only 6 or 7 years old at the time.
BTW, what ever happened to 6900?
UP 6900 is sitting behind the Durham Western Heritage Museum inside a chain link fence in Omaha. It will be put on display at the botanical gardens along I-80 near the Missouri River Bridge.

No, I mean a red white and blue. And what is with the DD40X, I saw someone wrote that the UP was thinking of painting it RWB, but what else is their to say about it?
6936 Is a BIG locomotive
I know, but… never mind.
But is their a Union Pacific #1776 or something?
No… at least not in 1:1 scale.
