Is there a favourite diesel manufacturer on your layout?

If I’ve forgotten one, let me know so I can had it to the list

Gordon

Sad to say, I won’t drive a GM car but 30 of my 33 diesel locomotives are EMD.

Gordon

I work on GM cars & trucks [banghead]
I drive GM cars & trucks[^]
But I stand before you all this day, just to say.[]
I am Karl
and I am an Alco-holic![swg]
(hic,gurgle, burble, chugg,chugg)

All my line’s current motive power is GE except for an SW1–the old GE 44 and 70 tonners. Most of the electrics my line ran were GE steeplecabs or Baldwin-Westinghouse steeplecabs, but I don’t have any yet.

Well, I’m with Gordon. Never owned a GM, except for my road’s EMDs.

I thought u were referring to scale mfgr’s ?

Electro Motive Division I use Kato SD90MAC N scale or HO scale too

You are missing:
Lima
Ingersoll Rand
Whitcomb
M-K
and probably others

Good question,
My railroad is mostly EMD power.

EMD hands down. About 85% of the locos are EMD. A few GE’s thrown in for a bit of variety.

[8D]I’m about 75% EMD 1st and 2nd generation.
Only GEs that I have are Seaboard Coast Line U Boats by Athearns.

[;)]Hey kbfscme, Alcos are cool!
Isn’t the sound more like a deep**“huckety-buck, huckety-buck”?**.
Got to hear an RS3 in an operating museum in Parrish, Florida not too long ago![:P]

And yes, I’m a total nuthead when it comes to diesel locomotive sounds!

Of the modern stuff I have only 1 GE the rest is EMD.

RMax

There are a few GE units sitting on the shelf, but the diesles in my primary fleet are all EMD.

Early 50s Electro-Motive. Several F-7s, a couple GP-7s a GP-9 and GP-18 and one SW-7. However, could see adding some GE and an RS-3 would be good.

Did Lima build a diesel? IF so, what?

I own far more EMD diesels than any other manufacturer, but my favorites are ALCOs. Unfortunately, no one sells decorated ALCO models for the NKP these days!

My Diesels are a dog’s breakfast from all the builders except Lima.In the late 1940’s Lima built switchers, light road switchers and center cab transfer units.

I hear yeh!

Though, I wonder if perhaps you have misspelt it.
Shouldn’t it be “ALCO-HAULIC”?
I am one. High-nose DL600B (a.k.a. RSD-15)!!!

Since I model the RIo Grande, and to keep their parts inventory managable, they are a completely EMD road. But I have to admit that I do have some of the older Baldwin switchers, and even a GE 9-44CW in Grande paint.

I drive a GMC truck [:)]
I own a 69 Camaro [8D] and yes at times [banghead]

All my diesels are Geeps

Gotta love the General[^]

Greg

Mainly EMD as that’s what my prototype, Burlington, primarily purchased. Before the merger creating BN in 1970, they bought a couple GE Uboats, and also had a Baldwin VO-1000 during WW!! era.
