Is there a way to match modern flex track to old O27 track?

I am building my layout with mostly old O27 track. I am using some new 027 track with a 42" radius. I need to lay another track parallel with the the 42" curve. I have tried using 027 curves and short straight sections. This looks terrible. I have also tried mixing 042 and 027 curved sections. This looks better, but still looks funky. I would love to use a section of flex track in this one section. Is there a way to connect it to the 027 on both ends? Thanks

Have you considered Marx O34, which has a 15 3/4-inch radius? You didn’t say what track spacing you’re trying for; but this would give you a 4 1/2-inch spacing on centers (assuming K-Line O42–manufacturers differ slightly on their O42 radii).

I have one loop which is 0 guage tubular and Gargraves mixed. The hobby stores have adapter pins from 027 to Gargraves. You will find that they work pretty good. Good luck.

We’ve connected Gargraves Flex Track to Lionel “O” quite successfully on the helix, and I imagine connecting to Lionel 027 (with the proper track pins) will work just as well.
