I’ve just learned how to post pictures on the forum. [:)] Now, is there a way to post movies of my trains running? Anybody know about this? I’ve got a couple of short videos I’d like to share. (Their file names end in .avi, and they were shot on a digital camera) They run in QuickTime on my Mac.
I remember watching a couple movies on here but they were linked to another site.

I don’t believe that you can put the movie up here. You can put it on your web page and link to it.
Post your movies on http://www.youtube.com/ or somewhere similar and post the link here. No photos or movies are actually hosted on the MR forum site, they are all on other sites with links or IMG tags which link to the sites.

Mister Beasley, I see you are in here, and you are the one who introduced me to youtube.com… Say a few words…
Yeah, I posted a video on YouTube a while back. They limit the file size to 100 MB, which was 1 minute, 45 seconds for me. I use the came-with-the-burner Roxio software to make the video - other probably sport better compression ratios and can put up a longer shot. On the other hand, it’s free, and you can sign up and post right away. Be aware that your internet connection speed is probably much slower for upload than download. I’ve got cable, and it took a long, long time to move that 100 Mb up there. My video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=dOV9NSqrQlc if you want to check it out. Sorry, it’s a bit dark. It’s mostly in the subway tunnels, and the LEDs on the front weren’t working right.
Yes, I had forgotten where I got the link to the YouTube site - thanks! I just uploaded a short (21 seconds) video I shot earlier this week on a friend’s layout. He’s just installed DCC and engines with sound, so I wanted to capture a diesel as it flew by. Just used my small Canon digital camera that has movie capabiity, was pleasantly surprised how decent it worked.

Probably best viewed by those with high speed access!

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve started an account with YouTube and tried to upload a 74.3 MB movie, but it didn’t seem to get uploaded. I’ve contacted them about it so am now waiting for help from them.
