I was browsing the lumber section at Lowe’s yesterday when I came across a 4x8 sheet of something called “Sound Board.” Looks suspiciously like the pressed-paperboard Homasote product. Same thing or not?
I used Sound Board on a large club layout, my home layout, and the club’s portable modular layout. Personally, I find it much easier to use than Homosote. Homosote is made of very densely pressed, recycled paper. Sound Board is a fibrous material made from recovered hardwood and sugar cane, according to the Celotex Corporation’s web site.
