Issues with Kato N-Scale SD70ACe(s)

Hi, I’m new to the forum but a big model railroader,

So, addressing the issue, I recently moved to Illinois from my hometown in Nebraska, and I’m setting up my layout (slowly but surely, it should be back up), and I was getting my SD70ACes out of their respective box (I have more than 40 SD70ACes), and I got one of my Kato N-Scale Union Pacific EMD SD70ACe #1943 and I do testing to make sure they work whenever the locomotives travel or post-traveling, but as I test it, it refuses to take power (and its not even a month old), and I test another one of my ACes and it takes power and runs as it should. I even made sure to pack it properly in its original box that it shipped out with when I first got it, and I put it aside and continued testing, and turns out there’s another one having the same issue, it’s a Kato N-Scale Union Pacific EMD SD70ACe #8495 and this one (I done a reshell since the original shell was damaged) and this ones the oldest out of the batch and I expected it to work since its the one that started my love for model railroading.

I’m debating whether I should make both into dummy units. I will be posting updates on my other units, too if I need help

I would pull the shells and check all the electrical contacts. I’ve had the same kind of problem before with other Kato locomotives and they have always come back to life. Check out the metal tabs on both sides of the motor and the board contacts to the frame. Mine are DC engines.
