The Boys at work
So thats my update for this week any suggestions/ comments just let me know
Nice looking track work.I’m sure you will remember to put some type of barrier along the edge to catch anything that might derail… it’s a long way to the floor.
Looks like you have a great start.
nharrison21,
Lookin’ good there buddy, keep it up, nice pictures too!
The rack that between the engines, I would like to see a picture of the that with just one engine along side of it. Cool.
ennout
hey Neeout heres the pic is just a basic taker fill that im converting to a fueling depot i still have a lot to do with piping and stuff but u get the idea
Ok now im estatic on my way back from walmart my hobby shop called and said they would like me to stop by so im like ok i walk in and they have an atlas 8-40cw gold series on the counter for me, now reminder this model is discoutinued and hard to find so need less to say im in ovredrive getting the laYOUT done
Thanks guys as of last night i got all of my track layed that i had now im waiting for for more to come into the hobbyshop cause i need more but the main part of the yard the 2 mains and a spur are done just need some finishing touches
BTW: Woodland Scenics sells some neat looking diesel fuel dispensers that you can add to your servicing platform. I think the kit number is Woodland Scenics #D232. Would complement your shop facility nicely.
Just a suggestion, but instead of leaving your service platorm where it’s at have you considered relocating it to in front or to the side of the shop building. I noticed in my younger years that railroad yards with shop buildings tended to have fueling stations very close by since it was convenient to consolodate shop servicing.
yeah i ordered some stuff from walthers to make one im working on a piping system thats running throught the yard to the main/spur fueling station im working on the starting point is the one in the picture. im honored to get that responce from a 5 star hahaha
i thought about that too but id like to have a mainline fueling action more than service it just makes it a little bit more fun cause i cant pull a full load into the yard to refuel hahaha
Please though…I’m not a big deal! Just a fellow forum member like you. I’m excited about your layout and am glad that I can offer comments that are helpful to fellow modelers.
Remember, stars don’t denote how much we know…just how many posts we make You’re just as important as CSsmith, Big Boy_4005, Joe Fugate, and the rest of the good guys we have on this train crew.
I’m glad that pretty soon the stars on this forum will be eliminated and most of us should feel even more comfortable…
nharrison21 nice looking yard. Is this your first layout? I have started my second layout this weekend. It’s going to be a three stage layout. A yard on one side of the room a 4x 8 layout on the other side of the room connected by a two track run between them. I have the platform for the yard done and should start laying track by mid week. I’m going to try to get some pics up later.
oh i understand that stars dont mean anything but its a way i look at it as a sign of respect and experience from the person but anyway thanks for the comments and im gonna post more pics in the following week after everything dries and i can pull all the thumtack out ( i used over 500 of them)
aquadan005
this is in fact my first hand layed layout and its coming out better than i had hopped my smallest radius is 22 if i remember right, cant wait to see what u have going on also
Thanks
Nick
One more thing i just got done adding and will be adding new pics to my photobuckets and instaed of eating up bandwidth im just gonna post the link and let every one know when to check the new ones out. so go here and see what going on
The shot with the NS unit face on with its ditch lights on is really nice! No offense, but the window shade is a distraction. I know its a fire exit but a 1 or 2 foot high backdrop would help make the scene and still give you window acess.
That other shot of the “warp speed” effect is also neat! How’d you do that?
cool thanks for the advice im gonna do a backdrop once i move in august no sence in doing it if im gonna move soon. the phot blur, i was just messing around and turned off the flash on my cam and let the train run at 1 mph model speed and thats the effect i got , thanks for the idea and keep checkin out the link im gonna post more this weekend.
