I hate it so much when people post duplicate threads on the same topic.Dang that bugs me.[;)] just messing with you Chad.
[(-D][(-D][(-D] The nerve of you.[swg]
IMHO, it seems to happen when we get a new member to the forum. They
may just look at the first page or two of the thread listings, and don’t look any
farther, to see if a similar topic has already been discussed. They might
think of some question or topic, and maybe haven’t gone back far enough to
see if the topic/question has already been posted. But you’re right: it does
get annoying sometimes.
OUCH! Ohhh…! Ouch!! Ahhhhhh…it burns! Too much flames!
Oh, I don’t mind it so much, as long as the threads are about things like UP paint jobs,or GE Vs. EMD. What toasts my caboose is all the threads about Open Access.[:)]
I don’t mind duplicate threads so much as others. When you are new to the forums, you get a different feeling out of posting your own topics than you do responding to them.
Or, some people are just too lazy to look back a few extra pages.[:p][:o)]
There is “SEARCH” at the top of the page.
But…!
We are here for conversation. If I wanted to do research, I would go to Goggle, the previous postings and the li-bary…
I don’t mind some old topics resurfacing - if I don’t want to read them, I will go to something more interesting. It’s a hassle, but so are a lot of things in life.
And…
I forget things - so I ask again for a review and people are so nice about it and review what I have for…
The only time it really gets to be a pain is when it’s a topic that got beaten to death and beyond, possibly several times, or was a particularly touchy subject. It’s not that people don’t appreciate that new forum member has a valid question - it’s more like we really don’t want to talk about it any more.
Sort of like the person at the office who walks in late on the detailed description of how to run the new office copier and says “So, how does this thing work?”
Must - control - the - fist - of - death ! (Thanks to Dilbert)
Do I chose this one?[:0]
No I said the other one.
