It's a Beauty Way to Go - Part Two

Next three are from a trip in 2003. It was supposed to be to celebrate the completion of season one of the Twilight Zone (the Forrest Whitaker version)… but we all had a sinking feeling that it could also be the end of the show. Sadly, that turned out to be true just a few months later.

Anyway - here are some shots that I liked from that trip.

First is of a classic BC Rail manifest sitting in the yard in Squamish. I think it may have been the train to Lilooet, but I don’t know that for sure. Can anyone confirm?

Second is of a BC Electric 70 tonner at the West Coast Railway Association museum in Squamish. It’s just a roster shot, but I have always loved 70 tonners.

Third and last shot from this batch, is also a roster shot. This is one of BC Rail’s unique CRS20-CATs, which were rebuilt from Montreal Locomotive Works RS18s. Even seven years ago, I was surprised to find these things still working. They looked to me like what would happen if Alco made a GP40X.

Thanks for looking and corrections are welcome…

This one looks like a “Kit Bashed” model.

Reality can be pretty strange sometimes.[:^)]

Thanks, for sharing, Charles! [tup][tup]

{The only movie, I ever enjoyed with Forest Whittaker(Garlick) was " Good Morning! Viet Nam!

also with Robin William as (as Adrian Chronauer).

Come to think of it, that was about the last movie I went to a theater to see (about 1987) Good Grief(?)

Interesting kinks in the footboards on 941. I’d love to hear that story.

Although this is not my area of interest, I feel obliged to say those were terrific photos. Good color, good composition and overall fine technical quality. Thanks for sharing.

That does give one pause, doesn’t it? I hope no one had an open cup of coffee in the cab when that happened!

Wish I could say that I knew anything about what happened to the floorboards, but I’ve got no info.

Beauty pics, hosehead.

I’d bet a two-four of Molson on those footboards being damaged at a railbarge dock.
