I am not rich at all if any thing completely the opposite. I am 58 and homebound this has been brought to my attention I have lots Trains. this is my 6th year since my debilitating stroke. I use to be a range officer at a shooting club uum guns. I have always loved guns & trains and owned and horse traded for most of my guns & trains. the stroke left me paralyzed on the left side. so my shooting days stopped so we sold or traded or bartered for the trains that I have. I don’t drink smoke or go out to eat hardly at all any more. I have changed my life style from my love of guns to more in love with trans. I am able to go to my train room from my hospital bed via my power chair my new legs. I just traded a case of 22 long riffle 5000 rds for ten aristo used COVERED HOPPERS. I am converting them back to original they have kadees body mounted. I ordered the bolsters and redoing the trucks to save my green backs. I guess we have too prioritize are love for things mine use too be gun’s and shooting. now all my thoughts are routed to train’s that I could do from home. Jaime don’t have to be rich just want to work towards that goal. I didn’t get all those trains overnight. Do you know any rich people that would like to adopt and over the hill family? sorry

I am sorry about your stroke and your loss of freedom must be terrible thing i had a eczemic transient (don’t laugh at the spelling or the pronunciation) it was a mini stroke, in 1978. My doctor advised me to have an affair, as my then wife was the problem, she used to send my blood pressure through the roof. I did have several affairs and it must have worked as i havent had one since, some 27 years later. But if I hadn’t of been given good advice i could well be in your shoes.

I agree with you 100%. I am sorry at my poor attempt at trying to be cute or funny. My love use to be Karate. My wife and I would go to lots of seminars and work out with people from other schools on a regular basis. I even taught Karate four or five times a week after work. To make a long story short about this time last year we learned that I would need some (minor) brain surgery. This past October I had the surgery, with very good results (I was in the hospital on my 50th birthday). But still no karate, my doctors don#8217;t want me to do any. We bought our first G scale train about a year ago, I think my wife was somewhat indulging me at the time, but we both really got into garden Rail Roading. For only doing this a year I feel very fortunate having what I have and meeting others at train shows, hobby shops, and this forum. Thanks for resetting my priorities. We all need to step back and look at what is important to us every once and a while.
sorry i just wanted too say that i like my diesels . and they are my priorities to have what i like in f3’s. can’t afford all the diffrent diesels that i like. so no harm done.
Isn’t is great to have trains as a common denominator between so many people, in so many places, with such different stories and backgrounds.
Just keep waiting and watching Steve. He will shine.

Well I am ten years older than Steve and thank whatever an agnostic can thank for a good wife, a good superanuation, great health, a wondeful house in paradise and a happy outlook and my grandkids.
I was in the workforce for 51 years and after i left my fisrt wife and took up with Doreen, things have just got better and better for me. I even stayed with my first wife for 10 years longer than I wanted too, so my youngest son was nearly 18, not just for the kids sake but so i would not have to pay her any money under Australian family law act.

Steve Trains can be great therapy! Years ago my Mom had a cerebral aneurysm, some effects similar to that of a stroke. After her main surgery she was completely out of it…in a near coma type state for six weeks. The Dr. had never seen this type of reaction before and he was very concerned. Not much hope was given but she came around and with physical therapy was able to return to doing everything. Just keep working at it! [:)]

Steve, my mom has had Alzheimers for about 5 years now. She was a brilliant person. Now it is a lot tougher. We still talk, but I have gotten closer to my dad because of the affliction. She does like seeing new things, but will forget many. The good part is you can take her to something over and over, and she thinks its new each time. Just know you are blessed, and He will change your lemons to lemonade.
