Grayson,
Congratulations!! I hope you enjoy it.
On a cautionary note though:I hope you got some kind of receipt for this because if you have a problem you’re not going to be abe to get it fixed under warranty. Lionel is pretty strict about that.
( Re-read your post Grayson and I thought you got it from an ebay guy or something. I’m assuming you got if from a Dealer, so you should be in good shape, sorry)

Well fellers, this thing is nice! Even if you just have TMCC 1 Locos!
Even with TMCC 1 locos, you can program them to have there own name and road number. You can also name and number lashups. I will figure out more later.
CHIEF, can a powermaster connect to it without any special cables?
Congratulations, Grayson! Read the manual and ask a lot of questions. You will have it down cold in no time. I think Don Baker has Legacy as well. You two can learn together.
Jim
Grayson, you have my email address. Any qestions, you can email me. LAZ has the legacy too. According to the book, no about powermasters. The Y cable has to have a controler. Will connect directly to a TPC cable. I have the reboot insturctions for the base and remote that are published in the book. Good luck. I can also talk you through loading the engines you have by using the white generic diesel chip. ENJOY.
Chief, you have a email.
I need to get a Legacy engine see what it does. I have been thinking about getting one of those UP Heritige engines, even if it is scale.
Since the Powermasters take commands directly from the Cab 1 then you could use it for controlling your powermasters. You do not need a command base to operate them. S far I haven’t had the issues Cheif has had but then again I don’t have a Legacy engine yet either. Don’t know if that has any bearing or not.
Lots of cool features with Legacy. Take the time and read the manual.
GRAYSON,
First CONGA on the new Legacy. Pretty much tells you what to do in the book. The modules are very easy to use with your legacy and TMCC engines, and makes em run better. If you need help just post or email, good luck and happy training.

I have been reading the manual. Still cant find out what these 4 little things are. Are they the modules? What do they do?
The 2 gray ones are generic TMCC desiel and steam modules. They are used when entering a TMCC1 engine. They set the remote up to give the engine a more Legacy feel when using the remote. The 2 blue ones are the operating system for the base and Legacy contoller if you would ever need to reload it.
Congrats on the Legacy system. I’ve read up about it and it seems like a great system (no doubt that it’s true). I do have one question though. On the armrest of the chair/couch in this photo, is that a Cab-1 controller?
I don’t know but the Legacy box and cotroller look photo shopped in![:D]
Yes, you are correct. I just had it to compare each of them.

Really? In that case, that CW-80 is photoshopped too!
The first Legacy Video on YouTube by yours truly -------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSN3Pr1pzAk
You need to set that Legacy up for TMCC1 mode under the info button so you get the Icons in the keypad. Looks like you’ll be busy the rest of the weekend…have fun!
Acutally, I just did that! Found out when I was adding names. If you go to Legacy, it wont control the loco.
Keep us posted about your experiences with the new system.
Good luck!

Grayson, I used the white/cream colored chips to program all my TMCC1 engines. Makes it faster. During that programing the chip sets your engines to TMCC1. I use to run them on CAB1 mode until I loaded them into the remote. Once loaded into the remote, they run on the Legecy display and you get a lot of the Legacy remote features such as the engine speed scale across the top of the remote. I have two engines that I converted to TMCC without sounds. Loaded them with the chip and then edited out the sound. I have some new Atlas engines and no matter how I set the stall, they wanted to suddenly stop and not creap like my Lionels. With them in the Legacy remote, I can now creap them by setting the loads and etc. You are learning fast. The only issue I had was the new command base went crazy one time. Used the blue chip marked for command base and “rebooted” it and all is well.
Just loaded the memory modules. Back when I manually programed them with TMCC1, the lashup wouldnt have the speed bar. Now that I have loaded them the speed bar shows up on the lashup screen and they will CRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP. [;)]
Yawn. More updates tomorrow.
