It's still summer

but the next winter has arrived at the stores.

I’ve build this structure for my Plywood District. The owner was a suggestion from my son. The idea came from an article in MR March 1992, “Hansen Storage”. The picture was made with a program “CombineZM”.

Very nice. Where did you get the fencing for that. That’s what I want for my coal yard but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for.

BTW, LOVE the Quick-E Mart billboard!!![tup]

the guy on the billbord looks like a guy from the simpson.

The fence is from ALLOY FORMS.

My son Benjamin is a Simpson fan, here’re more ideas he had:

A nice realistic scene you have there, Wolfgang. Well done. [8D]

hey it’s the quickie mart dude from the simpsons…I love one of his quotes: “working at the quickey mart, I know the standard procedure for armed robbery”…nice work! chuck

Thats funny that you did that to your layout. Anouther thought is make a quiky mart with that guy ( I cant remember his name) and Homer walking out with his “stollen beer”.

Just a thought

His name is “Apu”.

I liked “the Squishy Lady” [^]

Somebody was making some home made “Duff Beer” reefers. I can’t find the link now.

Convenience market on the Simpsons show.

I don’t usually see that program, but one of the funniest “Simpsons” bits I ever heard about involved that store. The owner was not an American, and there was a protest. One of the signs read “The only good foreigner is Rod Stewart”.

This was years ago and it still makes me laugh.

Sometimes you just gotta have fun, can’t be serious and prototypical all the time. Although if I were to use a show like that on my layout it would be “Family Guy” rather than the Simpsons.

Well, technically, 7-11 did convert some stores into Kwiki Marts for the launch of the Simpsons movie.

So it could be prototypical – if yer modelling 2007.

Maybe there really is a prototype for everything.

Yes, even for this was a cartoon in GMR '91. [:)]

I remember seeing quite a few of these in rural Maine when I was young. Folks would start their house, and run out of money. They would deck over their basement, add tarpaper to waterproof it and move in until they had enough money to finish the job. These were probably seasonal workers doing fishing, lumbering or similar work.
