A bit of Information
The GDRMCo operates in many different areas of Queensland but the main hub of the Range Road is the main line between Charters Towers, GDRMCo’s second largest RR town; and Townsville, GDRMCo’s Largest RR town and home to GDRMCo’s headquarters. Two other RR’s operated in this area aswell. These were Quality Rail, a general shipping company; and LTV Queensland, a mining RR second to GDRMCo. The main line between Tville and Charters Towers had the interchange with LTV QLD and Tville had the interchange with Quality Rail.
The trackplan
The main line was double tracked in 1960 to accomodate the traffic generated by the new online industry, Hadaphew Falls Mine. The mine produced 400 car loads a day and GDRMCo oprated 4 100 car ore trains between the mine and Tville.

You have all those nifty penninsulas, but you umm, blocked access to them with that line across the front.
To gain access to the layout a duckunder is to be placed under the left end of Tville yard.
now what scale is that for? and what are the dimensions of it?
Its for N scale so that if anyone builds it they can run the 4 100 car ore trains. The dimensions are 12x28m roughly.
Mitch buddy you’ve out done yourself, I like it but my old back don’t like the duck unders, could some removable brige or bridges be used for peninsula access. TB

Rolling stock
The GDRMCo mostly ran ore trains made up of 100+ ore jennies and 1 or 2 EOT DBU’s. Intermodal trains were not uncommon so double stacks and roadrailers would be suitable. The motive power in 2003 would consist of GDRMB GT30AC’s, GT42AC’s and GT40AC’s as road units and some RSW30-40AC’s as yard switchers.
Quality Rail used a large fleet of SD60’s and SD60M’s but did not have any switchers. Their rolling stock would be mostly double stacks and roadrailers.
LTV QLD used heavily rebuilt ALCo PA/PB-2’s and used SW1500’s as switchers. Their rolling stock would be mostly ore jennies with a EOT DBU.
